Controlling condensation is critical because moisture can compromise your insulation system, leading to thermal loss. The right insulation thickness ensures that the surface temperature is always above the dew point, preventing condensation from occurring on the surface. In the event that there is moisture, a closed-cell material can help prevent water vapour intrusion.

To date we’ve reused more than 2 billion PET bottles saving 90,432 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions – in other words 94,693 flights from Brussels to New York, or 35,000 ten day trips on a cruise liner.

THE LUNARK PROJECT - BY SAGA AND SUPPORTED BY ARMACELL
Discover how Armacell supported this project with our insulation solutions. SAGA, a Danish design studio designed and built the innovative LUNARK Habitat and tested its viability in Arctic Greenland in 2020. This bare location was chosen for its similarities with the Moon, and the project is intended to make space liveable for future travellers.
THE ROSIE PROJECT - THE MOON HABITAT PROTOTYPE WITH ARMAFLEX ULTIMA AND ARMAPET
After the internationally celebrated success of the LUNARK Habitat in 2020, SAGA Architects and Armacell joined forces again for another space enterprise: the world’s tallest 3D-printed polymer structure – the ROSIE project. The exterior shell is only 5mm thick, and so the thermal insulation had to be best-in-class by using ArmaFlex® Ultima and ArmaPET®. Case study here.
